NERS NEWS – In order to improve the quality of work in carrying out activities in the laboratory in order to reduce the risk of accidents and safety, it is necessary to conduct a Socialization of Occupational Safety Safety (K3) in the Laboratory, this is deemed necessary so that participants get clear and correct information about Occupational Safety Safety (K3) in the Laboratory. The purpose and objective of the implementation of socialization activities on Work Safety Safety is to provide an overview of information and explanation of the importance of rules regarding work safety in the implementation of project activities / student activities both for students and in the community later.
The SENJA (Occupational Health and Safety Counseling) activity was held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the SMK Kesehatan BINA HUSADA Surabaya Hall. Participants in the occupational safety and security (K3) socialization activities were students of class XI and class XII totaling 55 people.
The twilight week activities began with filling out the Pre-test after the participants entered the counseling location. This pre-test was held with the aim of measuring the ability of participants about K3 material in the laboratory before the material was delivered. The next activity was continued by singing the Indonesia Raya song and Airlangga hymn first. Then followed by several remarks, namely remarks from representatives of Bina Husada High School, remarks from accompanying lecturers, and remarks from the chief executive. Next, there was a material delivery session. The material presentation session was delivered by 3 students from the Faculty of Nursing Universitas Airlangga, namely Revina Dwi, Kharisma Damayanti, and Senia Meiradita. The material presented is material about occupational safety and health (k3), risk management, waste management, Occupational Diseases (PAK), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Infection Control Prevention, prevention and how to reduce work accidents and prohibitions while in the laboratory. After the presentation of the material, it was continued with questions and answers.
In addition to the presentation of material, Senja Week also held material practices that were no less interesting. It is intended that the participants can better understand the material presented and how to apply it when an incident occurs in the laboratory. The practice of this material was delivered by 4 students of the Faculty of Nursing, Airlangga University. The practice of this material begins with a video screening of burn treatment, treatment if the eyes are exposed to chemicals, and in the event of swallowing foreign objects. The speaker provides education by demonstrating it so that students better understand the material presented.
After the practice is complete, the next activity is games. All the students were so enthusiastic about the games that everyone was laughing. The game is QOD or Question Or Dare. The game mechanism uses glass media that is played accompanied by music. In the middle of the game the music will stop and the person holding the last glass will come forward and get a challenge in the form of a question or dare. The participant who moves forward is the one who holds the last glass. Participants took the lottery that had been prepared. If you get a question, you will get a question that is in accordance with the material that has been delivered and if you get a dare, you will get a challenge that is also in accordance with the material that has been practiced. Games run very fun because all participants are very enthusiastic about the prizes that will be given. Unfortunately, the games cannot last long due to the limited duration.
After the games, there were participant rewards that were equally welcomed enthusiastically by the participants. There were 4 rewards for the best participants and 4 rewards for the most active participants. The prizes were given directly by the chief executive to the participants. After the prizes were awarded, there was a documentation session between the participants and the chief executive. After awarding is the post-test. This post-test measures how well the participants understand the material and practical demonstrations that have been given. The final results showed that participants understood the material that had been presented. We as the twilight week committee feel very happy to be able to provide education to SMK BINA HUSADA students, especially those majoring in medical records and clinical pharmacy, because this can be the basis of their knowledge in the event of a work accident for themselves or those around them or even become knowledge in the future if they already work in an agency.
After the post-test, a plaque was handed over to the principal of SMK BINA HUSADA as a form of gratitude for the warm welcome that had been given, and the last was the closing and joint documentation.
