Faculty of Nursing initiates new collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

NERS NEWS – Faculty of Nursing is consistent in supporting UNAIR ‘s achievement as a world class university. Institutional cooperation should be aimed at increasing institutional benefits and image building. In addition, the implementation of cooperation activities must prioritize the principles of good university governance and equality. On November 16, 2022, at Bilik Mesyuarat Aras 2, Blok Tambahan, Kompleks Pendidikan Perubatan, Campus Kuala Lumpur, UKM, a strategic meeting was held for the initial collaboration between the two institutions. The delegation was met by Professor Dr. Abdul Halim Bin Abdul Gafor, as Dean along with Prof. Madya Dr. Jemaima Che Hamzah and Prof. Dr. Tan Geok Chin, as Deputy Dean Faculty of Medicine, accompanied by Head of Nursing Department, Dr. Jalina Binti Karim, and a team of lecturers from the nursing department.

In the discussion, Prof. Dr. Ah Yusuf S, S.Kp., M. Kes, as the Dean of Faculty of Nursing UNAIR introduced the profile of Universitas Airlangga and Faculty of Nursing UNAIR then offered several cooperation activities that can be carried out by both institutions, including Academic collaboration, Joint Research and Community development collaboration. In addition, several other possibilities such as becoming an adjunct professor and partner in organizing the International Nursing Conference in the future were also explored. Mrs. Ika Nur Pratiwi, S.Kep Ns., M.Kep as Faculty Ambassador, Faculty of Nursing UNAIR said, “Both parties agreed to follow up this matter which will be outlined in a Memorandum of Agreement”.

In this meeting, the host invited all delegates from Faculty of Nursing UNAIR including Dr. Joni Haryanto, as vice dean for Human Resources and Finance and Dr. Esti Yunitasari, as vice dean for Research, Innovation and Community Development to tour around the UKM medical faculty. Based on QS World University Rankings 2023: Top global universities, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia is ranked 129th in the world(https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2023 ), which is expected to strengthen the efforts of the education internationalization program. This strategic meeting activity also supports the accelerated achievement of SDGs 3 “Good Health and Well Being” and SDGs 4 “Quality Education”.
