Apakah anda mengenal Bunga Telang? Ya, dahulu bunga ini hanya terlihat seperti tanaman liar pada umumnya yang tumbuh di halaman rumah. Bunga telang atau Clitoria ternatea ini punya kelopak bunga dengan warna biru gelap, dan dasarnya berwarna putih atau kuning.

Semakin berkembangnya zaman dan bertambahnya penelitian, bunga ini diketahui memiliki banyak manfaat untuk kesehatan. C. ternatea telah digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional, terutama sebagai suplemen untuk meningkatkan fungsi kognitif dan mengurangi gejala berbagai penyakit termasuk demam, peradangan, nyeri, dan diabetes (Mukherjee et al., 2008).

Khasiat di Balik Warnanya yang Cantik

Warna biru tua bunga C. ternatea adalah alternatif paling dicari sebagai pewarna makanan biru sintetis (Nigg et al., 2011). Studi melaporkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak C. ternatea meningkatkan kandungan polifenol dan antioksidan pada kue bolu (Pasukamonset et al., 2018) dan mengurangi indeks glikemik pada tepung (Chusak et al., 2018a).

Warna biru bunga telang mengandung antioksidan berupa antosianin yang mampu menangkal radikal bebas pada tubuh, sehingga sel-sel tubuh tetap terjaga dan terhindar dari kerusakan dini. Berikut manfaat yang anda dapatkan dari bunga telang: memelihara kesehatan otak, mencegah dan meringankan reaksi alergi, meringankan peradangan, menurunkan gula darah, mengobati diare.

Cara Membuat Teh dari Bunga Telang

Bahan yang dibutuhkan: 200 ml air panas dan 10 kelopak bunga telang kering. Cara pembuatannya:
1. Tuang air panas ke dalam gelas
2. Masukkan bunga telang dan biarkan selama 15 menit. Air pada gelas akan berubah menjadi warna biru.
3. Setelah bunga telang tidak mengeluarkan warnanya, pisahkan air dan bunga telang dengan disaring. Teh bunga telang siap diminum.

Anda juga bisa membuatnya dengan campuran Teh lainnya, seperti sariwangi. Teh ini mampu menjaga kesehatan mulut, produksi sel darah merah, mengatasi perut kembung. Bahan yang dibutuhkan: 15 kelopak bunga telang kering, 5 batang serai yang sudah dipotong kecil, 1 liter air. Cara pembuatannya:
1. Panaskan air hingga mendidih. Jika sudah, masukkan bunga telang dan serai
2. Tunggu hingga wara biru keluar dan aroma serai tercium
3. Tuang teh ke dalam gelas atau bisa disaring dahulu. Untuk menambah rasa, anda bisa tambahkan madu. Teh siap diminum.
