The Master of Nursing study program is one of the study programs in the Airlangga University Faculty of Nursing which was established in 2008 based on the Chancellor’s Decree number 4311/J03/OT/2008. The Master of Nursing Study Program at the Faculty of Nursing, Airlangga University consists of four (4) specializations namely Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Nursing, Mental Nursing, and Nursing Management. The curriculum used refers to the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) with a study load of 43 credits taken within 3 semesters.
Learning methods at the Master of Nursing Study Program at Airlangga University include facilitated discussions, group discussions, simulations, case studies, collaborative-cooperative learning, project-based learning, problem-based learning, or other learning methods, which can effectively facilitate the fulfillment of graduate learning outcomes by emphasizing on the Student Centered Learning (SCL) method. Another method used to support the learning process is through online learning, for example e-learning, MOOC, and others. At this time the learning method used is blended learning which is a combination of offline and online.
The learning process at the Master of Nursing Faculty of Nursing, Airlangga University is carried out on campus and practice grounds. The practical land used includes hospitals, health centers, health offices and nursing homes. Some of the practice areas that work with FKP are Dr. Soetomo Surabaya, Airlangga University Hospital in Surabaya, and overseas hospitals, Menur Hospital in Surabaya, UPTD Griya Werdha Jambangan City of Surabaya and Community Health Centers in the working area of the Surabaya City Health Office.
The Master of Nursing Study Program has been accredited with an A rating (Very Good) based on Decree Number 0221/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Mag/IV/2018, and in 2019 is in the process of applying for international accreditation to the Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics /Computer Science, the Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN).
