NERS NEWS – Nursing Clinical Practice (PKK) students from the Faculty of Nursing (FKp), Universitas Airlangga (Unair), Group B3, organized a spiritual program featuring congregational prayers, Quranic recitation, and communal sholawat with elderly residents. The activity involved Group B3 members: Farel Aulia Revyanto, Windy Dwi Apriliani, Ananda Magfira Nurochma, and Marsa Elma Saputri, alongside the elderly residents of Liponsos Kalijudan.
The event took place at Liponsos Kalijudan, Surabaya, a social service facility for the elderly and vulnerable groups. The activity was held on Friday, February 20, 2026, following the Asr prayer, as part of the students’ community nursing practice program.
The session began with a solemn congregational prayer (sholat berjamaah) attended by both students and residents. Following the prayer, the students and the elderly engaged in communal recitation of short chapters (surahs) from the Quran. The warm, familial atmosphere grew even stronger as the program continued with the chanting of sholawat, which the elderly residents joined with great enthusiasm. Throughout the event, the students accompanied and assisted the residents, ensuring their comfort and active participation.
Through this initiative, the Group B3 Nursing Clinical Practice students hope to make a tangible contribution to improving the quality of life for the elderly, particularly in their spiritual and social aspects. Furthermore, this activity serves as an implementation of “caring” values within community nursing practice.
