NERS NEWS — Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga (BEM FKp Unair) successfully held the 2026 Cadre School on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Florence Classroom, Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga. This activity was specifically designed as a mandatory training program for all MITOSIS 2026 committee members in order to prepare them to carry out a character-building process that is adaptive to the characteristics of Generation Z.
The event was officially opened by the Chairperson of the Committee, the Minister of KPSDM, and the President of BEM FKp Unair. A total of 91 MITOSIS committee members attended and participated in the series of activities held from morning until noon.
“Comfort in organizations can be measured by how much we are able to grow within them,” said M. Rizqi Senja Virawan, Chairperson of BEM Unair 2026.
The main session was presented by M. Rizqi Senja Virawan, an undergraduate Law student at Unair from the Class of 2022 who currently serves as the Chairperson of BEM Universitas Airlangga 2026. During the 60-minute session, Senja, as he is familiarly called, delivered material entitled Performance Optimization, covering time management through the concept of Parkinson’s Law, collaboration and effective communication within teams, as well as the foundation of leadership through the Transformational Leadership approach.
Mr. Senja is widely known within the campus environment as a speaker who has actively participated in more than 70 organizational activities. His experience in more than 20 campus organizations, as well as his status as an awardee of 6 scholarships and leadership programs, makes him a relevant and inspiring figure for the MITOSIS committee members, the majority of whom are students from younger cohorts.
After the question-and-answer session and the presentation of a plaque to the speaker, the participants continued the activity with a 50-minute Forum Group Discussion (FGD). In the FGD, the committee members were divided into 6 groups and discussed the evaluation of last year’s MITOSIS, while also presenting the results of their group discussions. This session was designed as a real simulation before the implementation of MITOSIS, so that the committee members could learn from the process of trial and error in a controlled setting.
The activity was closed with a lively ice-breaking session, followed by the presentation of awards to the winners. Through the 2026 Cadre School, BEM FKp Unair hopes that all MITOSIS committee members will have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of committee work, technical readiness, as well as a unified spirit to create a young generation of the Faculty of Nursing that is ready to compete in the global era.
