
NERS NEWS — Surabaya, June 12, 2026 — The Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga welcomed Prof. Moon Fai Chan as a delegate from Sultan Qaboos University to discuss potential future collaboration. The visit was warmly welcomed by Dr. Ika Nur Pratiwi, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., as the cooperation coordinator, Nuzul Qur’aniati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Ng., Ph.D., as Vice Dean III, and Prof. Dr. Yuni Sufyanti Arief, S.Kp., M.Kes., as Dean of the Faculty of Nursing.
Before the meeting officially began in the afternoon, the attending lecturers from the Faculty of Nursing introduced themselves, followed by an introduction from Prof. Moon Fai Chan. The meeting then opened with a screening of the Faculty of Nursing’s company profile video, facilitated by a student ambassador in attendance. Afterwards, the session continued with an introduction to the Faculty of Nursing delivered by Dr. Ika Nur Pratiwi, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.

Prof. Moon Fai Chan then presented research material focusing on health promotion for older adults. The ideas presented were well received and positively discussed by the attending lecturers, creating a productive and interactive discussion. However, due to time limitations, Dr. Ika Nur Pratiwi, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., suggested holding a follow-up online meeting for both parties. At the end of the meeting, Nuzul Qur’aniati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Ng., Ph.D., and Prof. Dr. Yuni Sufyanti Arief, S.Kp., M.Kes., presented a souvenir to Prof. Moon Fai Chan from Sultan Qaboos University as a token of appreciation for attending and actively contributing to the meeting.
The meeting between the Faculty of Nursing and Sultan Qaboos University reflects support for Universitas Airlangga’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education. Through this meeting, both parties are expected to support each other in advancing knowledge in the healthcare field through research and collaborative activities involving lecturers and students. In addition, this activity also represents the implementation of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening global partnerships to achieve shared progress.
