Addressing the Challenges of Faculty Coverage, Airlangga Nursing Journalist of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga Equips Members with Visual Techniques and Entrepreneurial Mindset

NERS NEWS — As an initial step in carrying out its new management period, Airlangga Nursing Journalist (ANJ) of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, held an ANJ upgrading program. This activity, which aimed to enhance knowledge and support members’ performance, took place in Carol A. Miller Lecture Room, Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, on May 23, 2026.

The attendance of all active members in the forum, which lasted from morning until noon, reflected their commitment to the organization and to ensuring the success of its work programs for the upcoming term. The main reason behind organizing this training was that Airlangga Nursing Journalist is currently entrusted by the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, to cover various faculty events. The increasing number of coverage assignments, which has not been matched by all members’ abilities in taking quality photos and videos, has led to a heavier workload. Therefore, the 2026 ANJ Upgrading adopted the theme of photography, videography, and entrepreneurship to improve members’ skills in producing quality visual content while fostering an entrepreneurial mindset.

In the first session, the material was delivered by Riza Maulana Ramadhan, S.Si., owner of RizzApparel. The session focused on the importance of developing an entrepreneurial mindset among young people, even those from science-related fields. In addition, participants were introduced to the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) to support entrepreneurial activities.

The second session was led by Darma Dian Firmansyah, a student from FTIRS ITS who is active in photography and videography through ITS TV. This session focused on introducing photography and videography, techniques for capturing quality photos and videos, and key elements of visual production. Throughout the event, active interaction took place between the speakers and ANJ members, particularly during discussion and question-and-answer sessions.

Through this ANJ upgrading program, the expected outcomes are to develop students who are aware of the importance of entrepreneurship and possess the ability to create high-quality photography and videography works. The skills developed through this training are expected not to remain as theoretical knowledge but to be directly applied in daily activities.
