NERS NEWS — Group 7 Nursing Profession Students of the Medical-Surgical Nursing (KMB) Rotation, Batch 49, conducted a health education session on diabetic foot exercises in the IRNA 6 Ward of Universitas Airlangga Hospital, Surabaya. The activity was attended by 18 participants and took place in a warm, interactive atmosphere filled with enthusiasm.
The educational session was led by Hanifah and Nadia, who provided information about the benefits of foot exercises for people with diabetes mellitus and how to perform the movements correctly. Rather than simply listening to the material, participants were also invited to practice the foot exercise movements together. The atmosphere became even livelier as participants enthusiastically followed each movement.

Through this activity, the students sought to improve participants’ knowledge and understanding of light physical activities that can be performed by people with diabetes. The education was also expected to equip participants with information they could share with family members and people in their surrounding communities. In addition, the activity provided a positive way to spend time and reduce boredom among patients’ companions while staying at the hospital.
This health education activity also supports SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being through education on efforts to maintain the health of people with diabetes, as well as SDG 4: Quality Education by providing health knowledge and skills that can be applied in everyday life.

Through this simple activity, carried out in a spirit of togetherness, Group 7 Nursing Profession Students, Batch 49, not only shared knowledge but also created a more cheerful atmosphere in the hospital environment. It is hoped that every movement learned will become a small step toward healthier living habits for participants and their families.
