
NERS NEWS — The Staff and Student Outbound Program of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Malaysia, officially concluded on Thursday, July 2, 2026. The delegation consisted of Prof. Dr. Tintin Sukartini, S.Kp., M.Kes.; Dr. Ika Yuni Widyawati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Ns.Sp.Kep.MB.; Dr. Praba Diyan Rachmawati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.; Dr. Elida Ulfiana, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.; and Dr. Rista Fauziningtyas, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Ph.D., along with four students: Arthamevia Annisatun Nisaq, Firli Ramadhana, Alina Ramadani, and Yuliana Rahmah.
The final day began with a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, reflecting the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga‘s commitment to community engagement at the international level. The activity involved the delegation from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga together with members of the academic community of Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Through this program, the delegation had the opportunity to strengthen social responsibility, foster collaboration, and exchange experiences in community service initiatives.
Following the academic sessions, the students from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga presented a video documenting their journey throughout the program in Sabah. The atmosphere became even more vibrant as they performed a short cultural presentation showcasing Indonesian traditions. Their performance was warmly received by the audience. In return, representatives from Hospital Universiti Malaysia Sabah (HUMS) performed the traditional Sabah song Sabah Ginawoku and invited the entire delegation from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga to join in a traditional dance. The joyful interaction created a warm and memorable atmosphere that reflected the spirit of international friendship and cultural exchange.
The program concluded with a farewell gathering at the FPSK Gallery, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, providing an opportunity for participants to strengthen relationships across institutions. The experiences gained throughout the program enabled the students to enhance their cross-cultural communication skills, broaden their international perspectives, and gain a deeper understanding of nursing practice in a different healthcare setting. The program also reflected the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga‘s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through international academic collaboration.
