NERS NEWS — Friday, June 10, 2026 — The Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, welcomed Prof. Khuei Ru Chuo from Taipei Medical University as the keynote speaker for a guest lecture. During the session, Prof. Chuo delivered a presentation entitled “Empowering Leadership Capacity to Drive Health System Transformation.” The event was held in the Florence Nightingale Room and attended by undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students, as well as alumni.
During the lecture, Prof. Khuei Ru Chuo discussed the importance of developing leadership capacity to drive an adaptive, innovative, and community-oriented healthcare system. He emphasized that healthcare leaders must possess not only strong clinical competencies but also the ability to make strategic decisions, foster multidisciplinary collaboration, and lead organizational change to improve the quality of healthcare services.
The event received enthusiastic participation from undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Nursing. Following the presentation, participants actively engaged in discussions and raised various questions related to the topics presented. Through this guest lecture, the Faculty of Nursing hopes to broaden students’ and alumni’s global perspectives, strengthen their leadership skills, and enhance competencies that are relevant to the evolving needs of the healthcare sector.
The participation of an academic from Taipei Medical University also reflects the Faculty of Nursing’s commitment to strengthening international collaboration in creating a globally oriented learning environment. This activity further supports Universitas Airlangga‘s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals to contribute to high-quality healthcare systems.
