
NERS NEWS – Nursing Professional Students (Ners) Group 2, Medical-Surgical Nursing Rotation (KMB) 2026, organized a Hospital Health Education (PKRS) activity titled “Early Detection of CKD” in Ward Irna 7A, Graha Trimed, Universitas Airlangga Hospital, on Friday, April 17, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM until completion. This activity was conducted in Ward Irna 7A, Graha Trimed, Universitas Airlangga Hospital and was attended by patients’ family members who were accompanying hospitalized relatives. The aim of this activity was to improve knowledge and skills in adopting an active lifestyle as an effort to enhance health status.
The activity was carried out in an interactive and educational manner, focusing on the importance of physical activity and light exercise as part of an active lifestyle for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). The education was delivered using leaflets and PowerPoint presentations to help participants better understand and retain the information provided. In addition, a discussion session became an important part of the activity, as reflected by the participants’ enthusiasm in asking questions and sharing their experiences related to undergoing hemodialysis.
Approximately six participants, consisting of patients’ family members, attended the activity attentively. The session, held in Ward Irna 7A, Graha Trimed, Universitas Airlangga Hospital, ran smoothly and in a conducive atmosphere, demonstrating the participants’ high interest in the educational material, particularly regarding safe and appropriate physical activity for patients.
This PKRS activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of patients’ families regarding the understanding of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), as well as its prevention and management, in order to maintain kidney health and prevent complications. Furthermore, this activity also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, through promotive and preventive health efforts.
Overall, this PKRS activity had a positive impact on participants and is expected to be applied sustainably in the daily lives of patients. It also contributes to improving the quality of healthcare services at Universitas Airlangga Hospital and represents a tangible effort in supporting the achievement of sustainable health development goals.
