NERS NEWS — Munakata, July 14, 2026 — The delegation from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga (Unair), participated in a welcoming session and campus tour at the Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing (JRCKICN), Munakata, Japan, on Tuesday, July 14. The activity was part of the initial series of the Student Outbound program, which aimed to introduce the academic environment while fostering interaction and building networks between students and academic communities from both institutions.
The activity began with an introduction and welcoming session hosted by the Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing. During the session, the Faculty of Nursing Unair delegation and JRCKICN had the opportunity to present their respective institutional profiles, educational programs, and various academic activities. This exchange of information provided a platform for both institutions to become better acquainted and share perspectives on nursing education.
Following the presentations, JRCKICN students invited the Faculty of Nursing Unair delegation to join a campus tour. The delegation was introduced to various campus facilities, including lecture rooms, nursing skills laboratories, the library, and other learning support facilities. The activity also provided an opportunity for participants to interact directly with local students and gain an overview of the learning environment at JRCKICN.
The welcoming session and campus tour aimed to help the delegation adapt to the academic environment while creating opportunities for communication and experience sharing with the JRCKICN academic community. The activity supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through learning and knowledge exchange across institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through strengthening international networks and collaboration in nursing education.
Through these activities, the Faculty of Nursing Unair delegation is expected to establish positive academic relationships with JRCKICN and gain cross-cultural learning experiences that can support students’ competency development. This series of activities serves as one of the steps toward strengthening the internationalization of nursing education and expanding the Faculty of Nursing Unair’s global network.
