Group 1 Nursing Students from Airlangga University’s Faculty of Nursing Hold “LET’S LEARN ABOUT PRIVACY” Educational Event for Children at Aisyiyah 47 Kalijudan Kindergarten

NERS NEWS – Surabaya (February 27, 2026) – The School Health Program (UKS) outreach activity was held again at Aisyiyah 47 Kindergarten with the educational theme “Maintaining Privacy.” The activity was conducted by Group 1 of the 2025 Nursing Profession students from Unair and was attended by 14 students from Class A3. The session took place in an interactive, enjoyable, and enthusiastic atmosphere.

The outreach aimed to introduce children to the parts of the body that are considered private areas and how to protect them. The material was presented in simple language, using pictures and songs to make it easy for young children to understand. During the activity, the children were taught that private areas are parts of the body that should not be seen or touched by others without permission, except by parents when helping them bathe or by health workers with parental supervision. The children were also trained to be brave enough to say “no,” scream, and report to their teachers or parents if they feel uncomfortable. The activity was conducted actively through question and answer sessions, simple demonstrations, and educational games. The students were enthusiastic when asked to name who was allowed to help them and how to protect themselves at school and at home.

The A3 class teacher said that education about privacy is very important to be given from an early age as a form of prevention against unwanted actions. Through this UKS counseling, it is hoped that children can better understand their boundaries, increase their self-confidence, and be able to protect themselves.

The activity concluded with a brief reflection session and reinforcement of the message to children to always tell their parents or teachers if they experience anything that makes them uncomfortable. The UKS program at Aisyiyah 47 Kindergarten will continue to be committed to providing health education that is beneficial for children’s growth and development.
