A total of 21 students from the 9th cohort of the Doctoral Nursing Program, Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, participated in the Innovation in Caring activity in Malaysia from August 4–14, 2026.
This activity became an opportunity for students to learn, innovate, and gain international experience through a series of activities including innovation project mentoring, guest lectures, and sharing sessions on healthcare services in Malaysia.
Four innovations developed by the students:
- DEPENS – Innovation of Stroke Detection Instrument for Hypertensive Patients.
- Marine Algae-Based Moisturizer Foot Care Kit – a preventive strategy for diabetic foot complications.
- SIRANTING – early detection and prevention of stunting risk in pregnant women and mothers with babies aged 0–24 months.
- Telehealth Monitoring Gaming (TMG) – an innovation to prevent the negative impacts of gaming on adolescents.
The innovation projects received guidance from lecturers from the Faculty of Nursing, Universiti Malaya (UM), and the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga.
Through this activity, students gained experience in developing nursing innovations, improving their critical thinking, problem-solving, scientific communication, and collaboration skills, as well as broadening their perspectives on healthcare services from an international perspective.
