
NERS NEWS — On Thursday, August 27, 2026, Group 7 of the 49th cohort of the Nursing Professional Program at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, during their Medical-Surgical Nursing (KMB) clinical rotation, conducted a Hospital Health Education (PKRS) activity in Room 606, IRNA 6A, Grha Trimed. The session focused on introducing and preventing hemorrhoids and was provided for patients and their families in Room 606, IRNA 6A.
The activity aimed to encourage participants to recognize and prevent hemorrhoids through a healthy lifestyle, such as consuming high-fiber foods and increasing physical activity. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
The activity began at 10:02 a.m. and was led by the moderator, Hanifah Nur Khasanah. It was followed by a presentation delivered by Johana Eka Putri and Kharisma Putri Salsabila. The materials covered the definition, causes, signs and symptoms, classification, complications, and prevention of hemorrhoids. The presentation lasted approximately 10 minutes. Participants appeared enthusiastic and engaged while listening to the material. The session was then followed by a question-and-answer session and sharing. Two participants asked questions regarding lifestyle-related risk factors associated with the occurrence of hemorrhoids. The presenters responded to the questions effectively, and the discussion took place in an active and interactive atmosphere.
Finally, the health education session was concluded with a summary and closing remarks by the moderator. Through this PKRS activity, participants are expected to adopt healthy behaviors in their daily lives and maintain an optimal level of health.
