NERS NEWS – On Friday, May 22, 2026, a health education session themed “Pregnancy Danger Signs” was held in the waiting area of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at Universitas Airlangga Hospital (RSUA). The event was organized by Professional Nursing students from Class B27, Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, as a health promotion initiative for patients and their families.

The session took place from 08:00 to 08:45 AM WIB, utilizing lectures and interactive Q&A formats. The material covered comprehensive topics, including the definition of pregnancy danger signs, associated risk factors, specific signs and symptoms to watch for, prevention strategies, and the vital importance of early detection throughout gestation. The participants followed the program with high enthusiasm and engaged actively during the discussion session.

Through this initiative, it is envisioned that patients and their families will be able to recognize pregnancy danger signs early, allowing them to promptly seek medical assistance to prevent maternal and fetal complications. The program proceeded orderly and smoothly, receiving highly positive feedback from the attending audience.

This activity serves as a tangible contribution toward supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by preventing complications through the awareness of pregnancy danger signs.
  • SDG 4: Quality Education, by providing practical, hands-on learning experiences for practicing nursing students.
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, reflected in the close collaboration between the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, and RSUA.
