NERS NEWS — Sunday, March 8, 2026 — The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, through the Ministry of Social and Community Affairs, held its annual program Sirine Ramadhan. This year, the committee carried the theme “BERKAH: Learning Ramadan Education for Excellent Children’s Health.” The event took place at Yasiin Orphanage, located at Tikungan Perum Villa, Jl. Kalijudan, Tambaksari District, Surabaya.

The event was organized by the staff of the Ministry of Social and Community Affairs and attended by Ni Ketut Ali Armidi, S.Kp., M.Kes., as the BEM faculty advisor, representatives from student organizations within the Faculty of Nursing, and several alumni. This activity was conducted as part of an effort to share and provide educational activities for the children of Yasiin Orphanage.

Before the event began, the committee prepared all necessary equipment to support the program, including microphones, plaques, prizes, and other materials. The event started with a welcoming speech from the orphanage management and a collective recitation of sholawat led by Mrs. Ninik. In addition, Mr. Sholeh, the owner and caretaker of the orphanage, expressed his happiness at the enthusiasm shown by both participants and organizers. The program then continued with an opening prayer and a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an led by the organizing committee.

As the advisor of the Student Executive Board, Ni Ketut Ali Armidi, S.Kp., M.Kes., expressed her gratitude and hopes that the event would run smoothly. She also conveyed her appreciation to all parties who contributed to the success of the program. Through this event, she hoped to strengthen the relationship between the Faculty of Nursing Universitas Airlangga and Yasiin Orphanage, which is located near the university.

The event continued in a lively manner following the arranged program agenda, which included educational sessions, games, charity donations, award presentations, and gift distribution. The program was then followed by documentation, a muraja’ah session (Qur’an memorization review), the distribution of takjil, congregational Maghrib prayer, and concluded with a communal iftar and closing session.

Sirine Ramadhan is not only a platform for social outreach but also a space to interact closely with the children, share experiences, and learn together. This activity also reflects the Faculty of Nursing Universitas Airlangga’s support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, which emphasizes the importance of ensuring access to adequate and nutritious food for everyone.

During the event, Abhriel, the chief organizer of Sirine Ramadhan 2026, stated that, “Today’s event ran very smoothly despite a slight delay, and the program was still carried out according to the planned rundown.” The success of the event was made possible through the support of the organizing committee, BEM advisors, the management of Yasiin Orphanage, and all participants who attended. Through this activity, it is hoped that the children will gain a better understanding of the importance of maintaining cleanliness as part of a healthy lifestyle.
