NERS NEWS — (Monday, July 27, 2026) — Students from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, namely Talitha Maulia Nada (A24), Muhammad Rayhan Ricardi Sudrajat (A23), and Sandrina Humairah (A23), concluded the Student Outbound program at the Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing (JRCKICN), Japan, on Monday, July 27, 2026. After completing the entire program, the participants began their journey back to Indonesia, with Vietnam serving as a transit location for their flight.
For approximately two weeks, the students participated in various academic and field activities, including learning about humanitarian crises, disaster management, basic life support (BLS), elderly care simulations, district surveys, visits to healthcare institutions, and a community service program on Oshima Island. These activities provided valuable learning experiences that broadened the students’ perspectives on healthcare systems, nursing education, and disaster preparedness in Japan.
The Student Outbound program also served as a platform for students to strengthen their professional competencies through cross-cultural learning, international collaboration, and knowledge exchange with lecturers and students from the Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing (JRCKICN). These experiences are expected to serve as valuable preparation for developing nursing practices and improving the quality of healthcare services in Indonesia.
The conclusion of the program marked the end of a series of Student Outbound activities that provided not only academic and professional experiences but also strengthened international collaboration between the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, and the Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing. The program also contributed to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through enhancing the quality of international learning, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through strengthening collaboration between educational institutions.
