NERS NEWS — Surabaya, July 12, 2026 — The Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga (Unair), sent a delegation of students and lecturers to participate in the Student Outbound program at the Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing (JRCKICN), Japan. The program aimed to strengthen the internationalization of nursing education while expanding participants’ academic and cultural experiences in an international nursing education environment.
The Student Outbound program was attended by a delegation from the Faculty of Nursing, Unair, consisting of two accompanying lecturers, Dr. Abu Bakar, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.M.B., and Dr. Sriyono, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.M.B., as well as three students, Talitha Maulia Nada, Sandrina Humairah, and Muhammad Rayhan Ricardi Sudrajat. Throughout the program, the delegation participated in various academic and cultural activities, including lectures, scientific discussions, nursing laboratory practices and simulations, visits to healthcare facilities, and cultural exchanges with students and lecturers from JRCKICN.
The activities held at the Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing, Japan, aimed to broaden participants’ understanding of healthcare education and service systems, enhance professional competencies, and develop cross-cultural communication and adaptation skills. In addition, the program served as part of the efforts to strengthen international networks and collaboration between the Faculty of Nursing, Unair, and JRCKICN in the field of nursing education. The program also supported the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Through the Student Outbound program, the Faculty of Nursing, Unair, is expected to continue expanding international learning opportunities for students and lecturers while strengthening collaboration with nursing education institutions at the global level. The academic, professional, and cultural experiences gained throughout the program are expected to contribute to the development of nursing education quality and support the sustainable achievement of the SDGs.
