NERS NEWS — The Faculty of Nursing (FKp), Universitas Airlangga, once again demonstrated its commitment to expanding international networks through an academic visit and discussion with representatives from the University of Melbourne, Australia. The activity, held at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, served as a strategic platform to strengthen collaboration in education, research, and the development of international health programs.
The event began with an opening session led by the Master of Ceremonies (MC), followed by the screening of the Faculty of Nursing’s company profile video, which showcased the faculty’s academic achievements, research accomplishments, and contributions to the advancement of nursing science at both national and international levels.
The welcoming remarks were then delivered by the leadership of the Faculty of Nursing, represented by the Dean or Vice Dean. In the speech, the faculty expressed its appreciation for the visit of the University of Melbourne delegation and its hope that the existing partnership would continue to grow and provide mutual benefits for both institutions.
The program continued with an introduction of the invited guests before proceeding to the main agenda, namely a presentation of the Faculty of Nursing profile by the Vice Dean III. During the session, various flagship programs, international accreditation achievements, and opportunities for academic collaboration with overseas partners were highlighted.
Representing the University of Melbourne were Dr. Nilakshi Waidyatillake, Academic Lead of the Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) Program, and Prof. Anna Ryan, Head of Department at the Melbourne Medical School. Both speakers introduced and presented the University of Melbourne’s Bachelor of Medical Science program, including opportunities for student mobility and the development of cross-national educational partnerships.
The Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, also presented its international programs. Iqlima Dwi Kurnia, Program Coordinator, provided an overview of the Bachelor of Nursing Program at Universitas Airlangga. Meanwhile, Ilya Krisnana, Program Coordinator, presented the Nursing Profession Program, highlighting the strengths of its professional nursing curriculum and the global career prospects available to its graduates.
The discussion session was conducted in an interactive atmosphere, featuring exchanges of ideas on the development of health education, collaborative research initiatives, and opportunities for student and faculty exchange programs. The event concluded with the presentation of souvenirs as a symbol of friendship and commitment to future collaboration, followed by a group photo session and the official closing of the event.
This activity aligns with Universitas Airlangga’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the enhancement of access to internationally recognized quality education, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the strengthening of global partnerships in education and healthcare.
