NERS NEWS — Grand Editor Training Time (GREAT) 2026 was successfully held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Joint Lecture Building (GKB), Campus C, Universitas Airlangga. This national-level seminar was organized as a platform for high school students and university students to improve their skills in editing, scientific writing, and journal publication.
Carrying the theme “Optimizing Scientific Writing and Editing to Build a Research Culture Among Students,” GREAT 2026 featured a session entitled “Research Hack: A Practical Guide to Writing, Editing, and Publishing Students’ Scientific Papers.” The event was attended by high school and university students from both Universitas Airlangga and institutions outside the university.
The event began at 08.00 a.m. with committee preparations, participant registration, and the opening session. The event then continued with remarks from the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, the ANJ Editor-in-Chief, the Head of the Faculty of Nursing‘s Student Executive Board (BEM), and a representative of the student affairs faculty advisor.
The main session was delivered by Balqis Saila Sufa Al Zakiyah, who discussed practical strategies for scientific writing and editing. Participants were introduced to ways of producing high-quality scientific writing, as well as the importance of editing in improving the quality of academic papers. The session also aimed to help participants better understand the process of publishing scientific works.
Following the presentation, the event continued with an interactive question-and-answer session, in which participants actively engaged with the speaker. This session provided an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding and raise questions related to scientific writing, editing, and publication.
The event concluded with a group documentation session and closing remarks. Editor-in-Chief Olivia Bilqis Ayu Wijaya expressed her appreciation to all parties who contributed to the successful implementation of GREAT 2026. The event is expected to benefit participants by helping them develop their skills in writing, editing, and producing high-quality scientific works.
Through GREAT 2026, participants are expected not only to gain insights into scientific writing but also to become more motivated to foster a research culture and produce scientific works that contribute meaningfully to the academic community and society.
