
NERS NEWS — Students from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga (Unair), participated in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Student Exchange Program through a collaboration with Universitas Diponegoro, which took place from February 9 to June 19, 2026, in Semarang. This program provided students with the opportunity to gain cross-university learning experiences while strengthening their academic and professional competencies in nursing.
During the program at Universitas Diponegoro, students participated in various academic activities, including campus orientation, lectures, practicum sessions, and international guest lectures featuring speakers from various institutions. These activities were designed to broaden students’ perspectives and support competency development in response to the evolving needs of the healthcare sector.
The student exchange program involved fourth-semester and sixth-semester students from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga. In addition to participating in regular learning activities, students were also involved in Interprofessional Education (IPE) activities with students from various healthcare disciplines. These activities served as a platform to develop communication skills, teamwork, and interprofessional collaboration in delivering comprehensive healthcare services.
Through this program, students also participated in various academic evaluation stages applied at Universitas Diponegoro, such as the Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE), Midterm Examination (UTS), and Final Examination (UAS). Learning in a different academic environment was expected to enhance adaptability, broaden perspectives, and strengthen students’ readiness to face future challenges in the nursing profession.
This MBKM student exchange program aims to improve the quality of higher education through collaborative learning, academic exchange, and competency enhancement. The program aligns with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by expanding access to innovative learning opportunities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration between Universitas Airlangga and Universitas Diponegoro in advancing higher education.
Through this program, students are expected to gain broader learning experiences, improve collaborative skills, and become adaptive and competent future nurses. The student exchange program also reflects the shared commitment between Universitas Airlangga and Universitas Diponegoro to support educational quality improvement and strengthen sustainable academic networks.
